Narrative:

Mr. Smith, his Wife and 2 kids have recently purchased a well-known, architecturally recognized, home on the Long Island Sound. They quickly realized that the house, although beautiful, would not meet the needs of their family’s lifestyle.  They want to renovate the house in a way that preserves its design qualities but can also meet their needs. Mrs. Smith is an avid Yoga Enthusiast and loves the idea of an indoor/outdoor exercise area where she can teach one on one yoga classes and practice in serenity. Mr. smith, a writer is inspired by the outdoors and requested that there be an elevated garden that he can sit and immerse himself in his creativity. Since Mr and Mrs Smith work out of the house the family spend a lot of time together, and kids are quickly growing up so the family decides that an expansion of the currently living area would be worthwhile for their growing family. Currently, there is little room to practice Yoga and no secluded outdoor space for Mr. smith to do his work, so they have turned to me, a design professional to fulfill their living requirements while preserving the Architectural presence of Richard Meier.
